Pursue Love

LOVE

What is Love?

Love is not that we loved God, but He loved us and sent Jesus, His only Son, as an atoning sacrifice for our sins - 1 John 4:10.

True love is the love of God for us.
True Love is an unequivocal commitment toward an imperfect person for the individual's highest welfare, which often needs sacrifice.

Pursue love - 1Corinthians 14:1.

Why Pursue Love?

  • Love is the Greatest Commandment of Jesus.
  1. Love God with all our heart, with all our soul, mind and with all our strength - Mark 12:30.
  2. Love your neighbor as yourself - Mark 12:31.
These two commandments go hand in hand. Loving God goes hand in hand with loving our neighbor. If a person does not love people that he could see, how could he love God who he could not see? - 1John 4:20. Jesus asks us to love others. If we love Jesus, we will obey Him. Do we love God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength? Do you obey Him by loving others?
  • Loving is the greatest proof of Christ-likeness.
To succeed in Christ-likeness is to grow in love. Pursue love to continue being transformed into Christ-likeness. If love is an essential, then it is an option. We need to choose to love. Love is not just something that we feel. It is beyond feelings but is an action word.

Do not follow your feelings, but your Faith.
Feelings will help you to defeat, but Faith will lead you to beat.

If you know what you should do, but did not do it just because you do not feel like it, you are a hypocrite. Obeying means loving someone even if we do not feel loving them. (Romans 13:8,10)

People will see that we love Jesus because we love one another and not by our presence in church or the number of our memorized scriptures.  Everyone will know that we are disciples of Jesus, if we love one another - John 13:35.

Loving the unlovable is the greatest form of love. We should love despite imperfections and love imperfect people.

We should owe nothing to anyone except love. The proof of our Christ-likeness is our concern for the welfare of others.

Love our enemies. We need to love our enemies, do good to those who hate us, bless those who curse us, pray for those who mistreat us - Luke 6:27- 28.

If we only love those who love us, what makes us different from sinners who love the people who love them? - Luke 6:32.
  • Love is the Greatest Value. 1Corinthians 13:13.
Pursue love because that is the only thing that will last. Whatever we do or have does not matter if we do not have a love - 1Corinthians 13:1-3.

What is the direction of your life?
Are you pursuing Love?
Pursue love by accepting Jesus.

I pray that we always remember God's love for us and be a source of His unconditional love to others.Let love be our highest goal! - 1 Corinthians 4:1.
