If this is true, then it's only logical that we
choose the friends who could have great influence on us. They could greatly affect the quality of our life.
The righteous should choose friends carefully, for the way of the wicked leads them astray. Proverbs 12:26
No one is born with exact beliefs, opinion and upbringing. Getting beyond these differences is what makes a relationship rich. All relationships have things to be worked out.
While we have acquaintances, we need friends who would help us see the truth about ourselves and our lives. People who care enough for us to spend time to speak the truth in love to us. A good relationship does not break down when truth is spoken in love.
Be friendly to everyone but choose your best friends wisely.

Faithful are the wounds of a friend, but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful. Proverbs 27:6
2. Gives you sound advice
Ointment and perfume delight the heart,
The sweetness of a man's friend gives delight by hearty counsel. Proverbs 27:9
3. Refines you
As iron sharpens iron, so a man sharpens the countenance of his friend. Proverbs 27:17
4. Helps you grow in wisdom
He walks with wise men will be wise, but the companion of fools will be destroyed. Proverbs 13:20
5. Stays close to you
A man who has friends must himself be friendly, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.
6. Loves you and stands by you
A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity. Proverbs 17:17
7. Helps in time of trouble
Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, one will lift us his companion. But woe to him who is alone when he falls, for he has no one to help him up. Ecclessiastes 4:9-10
