Daughters of Issachar

Daughters of Issachar

And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.  (Hebrews 11:6)

Who is Issachar?
Issachar is the 9th son of Jacob and 5th son of Leah who is Jacob's first wife.

The name Issachar means "There is a Reward."

Thank you Father for allowing me to be a part of something significant such as shaping the life of these beautiful ladies. I pray that you will always fill them with your overflowing love, joy, peace which comes from an intimacy and personal relationship with you. May you always allow them to remember you and your love, especially in times that they do not feel loved. in Jesus name, Amen
They understood the times, with knowledge of what Israel should do, and all their kinsmen were at their command. (1 Chronicles 12:32)
Throughout the history of ancient Israel, the tribe of Issachar is portrayed as a family that was destined to flourish both physically and spiritually.

They were not only "mighty men of valor" but were also called to serve the other tribes in the areas of finance and the ministry of God. (1 Chronicles 7:1-5)

Mature believers able to discern and understand the sign of the times and know what God's chosen people should do and respond to them in a Biblical fashion. Issachar is prevailed by scrupulous scholars and is the most influential in witnessing and conversion.

Issachar are religious teachers. If I am an Issachar, God is my Zebulun.
  • They excelled in the words of the law.
  • They were endued with wisdom.
  • They were obedient to their command.
  • Their understanding of God's word caused them to become the first cultivators of Israel's divine treasures, and their counsel and interpretations of Scripture were received as authoritative.
  • Their knowledge of the Torah and their understanding of the times made them keepers of the biblical calendar.
  • They were the ones who made known the scheduled times and seasons of when Israel should observe the feasts of the Lord (Leviticus 23).
  • They had an anointing which gave them an unparalleled insight into God's timing of things - past, present and future.

Issachar's share of the Promised Land primarily consisted of the richest farmland in all Israel, which also had access to the Mediterranean Sea. This is the valley of Jezreel.

Rejoice, Issachar, in your tents. They will convene peoples to the mountain, and there offer sacrifices of righteousness; they will feast on the abundance of the seas, on the treasures hidden in the sand. (Deuteronomy 33:18-19)
They drew out the abundance of the sea and the hidden treasures of the sand. In their abundance, God called them to provide food to the whole of Israel as an "indentured servant" to their brethren among the other tribes.
When you cross the Jordan River, the tribes of Issachar must stand to proclaim a blessing over the people. (Deuteronomy 27:12)
Issachar's spiritual prosperity was also evident among Israel.
They were one of the six tribes to stand on Mount Gerizim as part of the sacred blessing ceremony.

During Israel's first civil war, when God was transferring the kingdom of Israel from Saul's rulership over to David, only the tribe of Issachar were united to the point "all their relative" joined to fight.

The sons of Issachar were able to commit themselves, because they understood that it was time for God to fulfill His prophetic word given by Samuel 17 years earlier (1 Samuel 15:28).

The Lord granted them an anointing to understand the prophetic timing for when He would seize the kingdom of Israel away from rebel and give it over to his servant David (1 Samuel 15:22-28).

The End-Time Tribe of Issachar

As we approach the end of time and the hard times associated with it, we must become more and more like the tribe of Issachar in its ability to understand the times and know what to do.

We must learn how to draw, on God's prophetic word, to guide us through the chaos of the last days, in preparation for His return. (2 Peter 1:19)

Praise and Worship Night

CCF Eastwood

Thank you Lord for a night of surprises after surprises after surprises from you....

All things work for our good
Though sometimes we don't see how they could
Struggles that break our hearts in two
Sometimes blind us to the truth

Father you know what's best for us
Your ways are not our own
You are too wise to be mistaken
too good to be unkind

So when I don't understand
When I don't see your plan
When I can't trace your hand
Cause me to Trust your heart

You see the master plan
And you hold our future in your hand
I would not live as those who have no hope
All my hope is found in you

I see the present clearly
But you see the first and the last
And like a tapestry
You're weaving me to someday be just like you
God is too wise to be mistaken
God is too good to be unkind
So when you don't understand
When you don't see His plan
When you can't trace His hand
Trust His heart
You alone are faithful and true
You alone knows what is best for you

Galatians

Thank you so much Teacher Alex for teaching us patiently with dedication.

Thank you so much for sharing to us your time and strength to teach us the Word of God. Thank you also for sharing your own life as you listened to our own stories. You are more than a teacher. Thank you for having heart and compassion.

Praying that God will bless you as you bless more people.

For my part, I am going to boast about nothing but the Cross of our Master, Jesus Christ.
Because of that Cross, I have been crucified in relation to the world, set free from the stifling atmosphere of pleasing others and fitting into the little patterns that they dictate.
Can’t you see the central issue in all this? It is not what you and I do. It is what God is doing, and He is creating something totally new, a free life!
All who walk by this standard are the true Israel of God—his chosen people.
Peace and mercy on them! - Galatians 6:14-16 MSG

Follow Jesus Christ

Jesus said:
"Come,
Follow me....
And I will make you fishers of men."

Our primary duty is to follow Jesus.
We become fishers of men, not by fishing for men, but by following Jesus.

We follow Him by obeying His instructions.

His first command to us is to COME.

It is in coming into His presence that we become fishers of men.

Jesus didn't command us to fish for men. Simply put, it is by coming to Him and following Him that we start a life transformation.

Servant Leadership

My goal in life is to learn how to be a servant. And once I master that - my next goal is to help other believers to become servants...It's the small things that we should be concerned with, not the big things. The big things are usually out of our control anyway. But the small things are the things that set the course of our lives. - The Outward Focused Life by Dave Workman
I would love to be used by God in all of my ways and days. Kindly pray for me that I will have a tender heart to submit to God's teachings and plans and to always have a heart after God's own heart. May I always love God with all my heart, mind, soul and strength.

May my eyes be always be fixed on Jesus, that I may always see His wonderful face that the things of this world will grow strangely dim in the light of His glory and grace.

May I become less and less, so that Jesus Christ will be greater.

He must increase, but I must decrease - John 3:30.

Outburn Burnout

Do you see what this means—all these pioneers who blazed the way, all these veterans cheering us on? It means we’d better get on with it. Strip down, start running—and never quit! No extra spiritual fat, no parasitic sins.

FOCUS on Jesus

Keep your eyes on Jesus, who both began and finished this race we’re in. Study how he did it. Because he never lost sight of where he was headed—that exhilarating finish in and with God—he could put up with anything along the way: Cross, shame, whatever. And now he’s there, in the place of honor, right alongside God. When you find yourselves flagging in your faith, go over that story again, item by item, that long litany of hostility he plowed through. That will shoot adrenaline into your souls - Hebrews 12: 1-3

Jesus knew:

where He had come from,
Where he was going,
And why he is here.

When we know that,
We are free to be anything.
We can take even the lowliest job without concern.

I know that I had no hope of saving myself from myself.

But I can now walk boldly before the throne of Grace.
Simply because of what Jesus did for me on my behalf.

I am brought here to bring lost children home to our father.

And with it,
I can live without any identity crisis.
I am among the freest people who is very confident of my Father's Love.

I know where I came from...
And I know that I will be in forever in His presence. :)

I am a child of the Great King...

I don't need to prove anything because I've already gained everything through Him who gives me strength...

I pray that everyone would experience the joy of being confident that we are all loved unconditionally...there's no need for us to strive...

Jesus said:
"Come... Follow me... And I will make you fishers of men"
We just need to follow Him...
He does the works for us...

It is by knowing His instructions, that we get to follow Him.
It is in reading the Bible that we get to know His instructions.

He never intended us to work out our way to receive what He meant for us even before we were created...

We just need to accept our crown,
And we become...

It's in what we become, and not what we do :)

No compromise

No Compromise

If you would hire someone in your company, I believe you would want someone who is competent.
Do not give to the Lord your God a bull or a sheep which is not perfect. For that is a hated thing to the Lord your God - Deuteronomy 17.
When it comes to serving the Lord, there is nothing more important than offering only the best.
  1. He deserves nothing less.
  2. This is the most important job in the world.
  3. He is holy.

Ministry is an overflow of our Intimacy with Him.

In our ministries, it is only good that we serve because of our love and gratitude to Him. Because if our desire is other than that, we are not giving Him what He wants.

What he wants from us is our devotion and relationship and not any work or offerings.
My food is to do the will of the one who sent me. (John 4:34)
O God, You know how foolish I am. My sins are not hidden from You. (Psalm 68)
Being in a ministry for God, our aim is to be blameless in both our public and private life. Accountability is a must.

May those who wait for You not be put to shame because of me, O Lord God of All.
May those who look for You not lose respect because of me, O God of Israel.

We should be holy vessels, with compassion for the people that we are ministering to.
We should serve the edible milk that they need through what they want.
For the strong desire for Your house burned me up. And the bad things said about You have fallen on me.
But as for me, my prayer is to You at the right time, O Lord. Answer me with Your saving truth in Your great loving-kindness, O God.
Answer me, O Lord, for Your loving-kindness is good. Turn to me because of Your great loving-pity.
Do not hide Your face from Your servant, for I am in trouble. Hurry to answer me.
Come near to me and save me.
They gave me bitter drink in my food. And because I was thirsty they gave me sour wine.

Evangelism is simply touching the lives of the seekers and clueless - to reveal the love of God.

For they have made it hard for the one You have punished. And they talk about the pain of those You have hurt. Let their sins add up, and may they not become right with You.
God is the one who brings people.
That's why Jesus command is to pray for more workers for there are many harvest.
It's volunteers that we need.

If evangelism doesn't inspire compassion for others,
If it doesn't give you a broken heart for the lost,
It's merely an event.
I will praise the name of God with song. And I will give Him great honor with much thanks. This will please the Lord more than any ox or young bull with horns and hoofs.

When Jesus comes back, He will not ask us how many projects you have done?

Those without pride will see it and be glad. You who look for God, let your heart receive new strength. For the Lord hears those who are in need, and does not hate His people in prison.

Instead he is going to ask:

Did you feed the hungry?
Invited strangers in?
Clothed the poor?
Laid hands on the sick?
Visited those in prison?
For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’ (Matthew 25:35-36)
Let heaven and earth the seas and all that move in them give thanks to Him.
For God will save and build the cities of His people that they may live there and have it for their own.
God's will is clear.
He wants everyone to come to know Him and be changed to the likeness of His son.
And the children of those who obey Him will have it given to them.
Those who love His name will live there.

May his purpose be always our purpose.

May we love and serve the way Jesus loved and served.

Be zealous for God.

Please pray for me that I will always be a surrendered servant to the will of God.
May I be transformed into Christlikeness who loves God and others through my obedience to Him.

Is there anything that is keeping you from trusting God with all your heart?

Approach the throne of God boldly and tell him how you feel.
You do not have to sensor things that you have to tell God.
He knows everything. You need only ask. :)

God's will is transformed people who love God and others.

Our part is the surrender.
God's part is the transformation.

Ungodly

Now listen, Why do you say, “Today, at the latest, tomorrow, we’re off to such and such a city for the year. We are going to start a business and make a lot of money.” You are not even sure what will happen tomorrow. What is your chance? You are just a mist that appears for a short time and then vanishes - James 4:13-15.

What is ungodliness

Ungodliness is defined as living one's daily life with little or no consideration of God or of God's will or of God's reputation or of one's dependence on God.

Ungodly

How ungodly are you?
Train yourself for godliness - I Timothy 4:7.
How much of your daily life do you live with love for God?
Whether we eat or drink, or whatever we do, we should do all to the glory of God - I Corinthians 10:31.
How much of your activities go through with any reverence to God?
Whatever we do, we should work well, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that we will receive from God the inheritance as our reward. We are serving the Lord Christ - 1 Colossians 3:23-24.
According to the book Respectable sins, by Jerry Bridges, Ungodliness is the spawn of the other sins.

I am less likely to have a crummy attitude, complain or become irritated, if I do, everything that I do, for God's glory. I admit that there are times, that other than my life in church and my quiet time, I forget to think about God so much in between.

Our primary goal should be pleasing God in everything that we do.
And we are instructed to turn from godless living and sinful pleasures. We should live in this evil world with wisdom, righteousness, and devotion to God - Titus 2:12.
  1. Pray over each of our time that our thoughts, words, and actions will be appealing to God.
  2. Do all for the glory of God by desiring that all our activities of all our days should honor God before other people.
Take note: The only reason that we would want to be more godly is because God loves us. There is nothing that we could do to make God love us more. He loves us already while we are still sinners and ungodly.
You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly - Romans 5:6.
This should be our motivation to leave our ungodly lives - that Jesus died on the cross because of our sins.

Please help me pray that God give me godly wisdom and discernment in everything that I do and not do. So that everything will be pleasing and glorifying to Him.

Ignite the Light

Ignite the Light

Grace and Peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ who gave himself for our sins to rescue us from the present evil age, according to the will of God and Father, to whom be the glory Forever and Ever amen. Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven - Matthew 5:1.

Have you ever seen a light bulb ignited without any electric source or battery?

Let us all focus on the light and let Jesus reveal the light through us.
Let us turn our eyes upon Jesus and humbly trust Him to reveal the light through us.
We are merely stewards as we let Jesus work through us. Let us focus on following Jesus wherever He leads.

No one can be a light of the world in itself. We can only become light through our relationship with Him - 2 Corinthians 4:6.
God speaks the light of Jesus into our hearts, and his light shines so powerfully through us that we are like stars in the universe that point the whole human race toward real life (Philippians 2:15-16).
“Whoever follows me will have the light of life and will never walk in darkness” John 8:12
Everything is not because of what we do but because of who lives in us. God is the one who puts us where we are. Have a blessed weekend!

Bible Study

These things happened to them as examples for us. They were written down to warn us who live at the end of the age. ( Corinthians 10:11)
With all the entertainments available, social medias, new activities, it is inevitably easy to forget the lessons of the past or just ignore them. However, Paul encourages us to learn the lessons of the past so that we do not have to repeat their errors.

The lessons that the Israelites about our God would not only help us to avoid the mistakes of the Israelites but also to know why we are doing it.

No God is like the God that our Soul desires - the Great Creator, Lord of Lords, and King of Kings who Loves us with all His grandeur!

In the same way that to have a relationship you have to know more about the other person, we remember by studying the Bible regularly. It is in studying the bIble that we learn how the Lover of our Souls wants us to live.

Heart and Mind

Everything is pure to those whose hearts are pure. But nothing is pure to those who are corrupt and unbelieving, because their minds and consciences are corrupted - Titus 1:15.
There are people who always see good all around them, while there are those who see nothing but evil.

What is the difference?

Souls are the filters through which people perceive goodness or evil.

Those who have Christ in control of their lives, or are pure, learn to see goodness and purity even in this evil world.

Corrupt and unbelieving people find evil in everything because their evil minds and hearts color even the good they see and hear.

Whatever you choose to fill your mind will affect the way you think and act.

Turn your thoughts to God and His word to discover more and more goodness, even in this evil world.
Fix your thoughts on what is true, honorable, right, pure, lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise - Philippians 4:8.
A mind filled with good has little room for what is evil.
The man without the Spirit does not understand the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him, and he cannot infer them, because they are spiritually discerned - 1 Corinthians 2:14
God's spirit lives in believers. I have learned that we should not expect that most people will understand or approve our decision to follow Christ. It may seem trivial to others just as a tone-deaf person cannot appreciate quality music. A person who rejects God can not appreciate God's divine message. With the lines of communication broken, it is impossible for a person to hear what God is telling us.

No one can comprehend God without the guidance of the Holy Spirit. (Romans 11:34)
Through the Holy Spirit, we could have insight into some of God's plans, thoughts, and actions having the "mind of Christ". We also begin to know God's thoughts, talk with him and await His answers to our prayers.

Do you spend enough time with Jesus to receive his moral sense in you? An intimacy with God comes only from spending time consistently practicing His presence and in his Word.

(wouldn’t kill Saul /wells)

Given the two kings and their values, What kind of an atmosphere would you like to produce?

  1. Is there room for others?
  2. Is there unity, agreement and understanding in your team?

Tips from Great Leaders

Attitude

Leadership is influence.

People catch our attitudes just like they catch our colds—by getting close to us.
Is your attitude worth catching?
(John Maxwell, Developing the Leader Within You)

The Extra Plus in Leadership is ATTITUDE.
A leader's attitude determines the attitude of his followers.
Humility is the foundation of every good attitude.

Managing Yourself is being a good steward of your time, talent and treasure.

Importance of PLANNING
    1. Planning keeps you focused. (Setting of goals/objectives)
    2. Planning keeps you on target.
    3. Planning helps you know if you’re making progress, getting results/ job done.
    4. Planning allows you to measure your performance (numbers are important in your goals)
          How to Plan:
            1. Pray
            2. Establish objectives
            3. Program
            4. Schedule
            5. Budget

“Therefore be careful how you walk, not as unwise men, but as wise, making the most of your time, because the days are evil.” Ephesians 5:15-16
            (S.Douglass, B. Cook, H. Hendricks,p The Ministry of Mgt.)

            Learn to Say NO
There are three good reasons for honestly saying NO.

            1. Say NO on the basis of your planned schedule.
            2. Say NO if you cannot give your best effort.
            3. Say NO because of your commitment to your family.

A manager can be trapped in the quicksand of being everything to everybody.
The surest way to be miserable is to try to please everyone.
*Say no firmly but graciously. Most people will understand…even appreciate you for it.

            Delegate
The heart of executive effectiveness is delegating properly.
It is not easy to delegate.
When delegation is improperly done, it will result in upward delegation, where the delegator ends up doing the job.

                    How to Delegate Properly

                    1. Follow-up

                    • At least twice ….not at the deadline, but early on.
                    • Continue to follow up to the end.
                    • No delegation is complete until the deadline is set.

(Dr. Agustin B. Vencer Jr., How to Manage Your Time)

                    The Price Tag of Leadership

                    The Price Tag of Leadership

                    SELF-DISCIPLINE

In reading the lives of great men, I found that the first victory they won over was themselves.

Self-discipline with all of them came first.

The Greek word for self-control comes from a root word meaning “to grip” or “take hold of.”

This word describes people who are willing to get a grip on their lives and take control of areas that will bring them success or failure.

Aristotle used this same word to describe “the ability to test desire by reason…to be resolute and ever in readiness to end natural vent and pain.”

People who are not controlled have strong desires which try to seduce them from the way of reason; but to succeed they must keep those desires under control.

Discipline in the beginning of life is the choice of achieving what you really want by doing things you don’t really want to do.

After successfully doing this for some time, discipline becomes the choice of achieving what you really want by doing things you now want to do!

I truly believe we can become disciplined and enjoy it— after years of practicing it.

All great leaders have understood that their number one responsibility was for their own discipline and personal growth.

If they could not lead themselves, they could not lead others.

Leaders can never take others farther than they have gone themselves, for no one can travel without until she has first traveled within.

A great person will lead a great organization, but growth is only possible when the leader is willing to “pay the price” for it.

Many potentially gifted leaders have stopped short of the payment line and found out that shortcuts don’t pay off in the long run.

This is what Edwin Markham has to say about human worth:

We are blind until we see

                    That in the human plan
                    Nothing is worth the making
If it does not make the man.

                    Why build these cities glorious

                    If man unbuilded goes?
In vain we build the world
                    Unless the builder also grows.
                    • Attempting too much at a time
                    • Unrealistic time estimates
                    • Procrastinating
                    • Lack of specific priorities
                    • Failure to listen well
                    • Absence of self-appointed deadlines
                    • Inability to say no
                    • Perfectionism – sidetracked by detail
                    • Lack of organization · Failure to write it down
                    • Reluctance to get started

                    Servant Heart

I choose to sacrifice my life to God.
I have no life to begin with, other than the life that I found in Him.
I would still choose to do things for Him, because there is nothing else that I can do without Him.
Everything that I have - is from Him.
I choose to commit each day of my life for Him.

What can I afford that He has not given?
What do I have that is not already His?
All I possess is this life that I am living, and that is what I wish to give to God.
I want to lay it all for Him and His glory.

                    Counterfeit Gods

You might say: I don’t believe in God,
But the bible says not possible,
Everyone has a God, whether or not it’s the God of the gospel.
You might not believe in God, but everyone has that one thing that’s king,
Even the dictionary defines God as what “whatever we make supreme”
It’s a theme, a thread, it’s inside of all human beings,
The fact we all worship, and no it’s not just about singing.
I know some of you already like
“Jeff I don’t worship, I put that on the shelf,”
But I say technically we all do, we just worship ourselves.

We all worship something, and to an object we’re all liable,

Ladies, to some your boyfriend is your God, and Cosmo is your bible.

Yet, we mock and we laugh at the Israelites Golden Calf,
But we do the same right back; it just looks different than that.
                    So question,

                    What’s on your throne?

What do you chase so you don’t feel alone?
So what defines you, what do you give ultimate worth?
And what if taken from you would bring ultimate hurt?
                    Now see,

                    that is your God

                    And all of us,

We've sacrifice deep joy for shallow happiness,

and honestly we look like fools,
We’re like full grown adults in the kiddie pool, going
"Oh man, this is so cool
We are slaves to our possessions,
We are always craving something new,
                    Reality check:
If you can’t give it up, you don’t own it, it owns you.

That’s the bible, it says we’re all spiritual prostitutes, actually we’re worse.
Because at least prostitutes get paid for their works,
When all we get paid is a hearse.

That’s why worship isn’t just behavior, it goes way into our core,
                    So ask yourself:

                    What is your God?

What do you bow down before?

For example some of you in here don’t worship Jesus,
                    You worship what He said,
Got theology in your head, but in your heart, poor, pitiful, naked, and dead.

Some worship in stadiums, some worship in bars.
We worship our posessions, we worship our cars,
We worship science, or we worship the arts,
But see it don’t matter what clothes your idol’s wearing, the disease is our hearts

Or guys, how come you always say,
“ya I’m a man, because I’m in control!”
Yet why cant you stop having sex with your hand, while staring at your macbook pro
Then there’s those guys who trade their wives for their job at work
Where they give more time to their boss then their wive’s needs or hurts
                    And you ladies,

No guy can love you more than Jesus already has.

So stop getting your worth from Magic Mike,
Jesus is so much better than that!

                    I know you’re thinking,
“so Jeff, are you saying we should hate money, hate drinking, and never have sex.”
No, I'm not saying that. The bible says enjoy it all, in its proper context.

But now I want to transition, and make a spiritual incision.
Can you really tell me these things are the ultimate purpose of living?
Instead of worshiping the Creator of you and I,
We say screw you God I’ll take your stuff, but you can die.
But that trade is terrible, trading God for man
Its like God offers us water, and we say “but God, this is such good sand!”
You say, “a God that requires me to give up something” I just can’t fathom,
Yet most are willing to give up everything for a quick orgasm?
You call me a wimp for running to God when times get hard,
Yet you do the same, you just run to the bar.

I mean, Am I the only one that’s felt that gnawing within?
Am I the only one that’s felt the weight of my own sin?

But here’s what’s unique, so go ahead and critique,
but if hear anything in this poem, hear this one thing I speak.
Where we exchanged ourselves for God, thinking we could be Him,

He exchanged Himself for us, absorbing all our sin.

God put on flesh, and do you see how we treated him?
The ultimate war veteran, because he was killed for our freedom.
Nonetheless He was thinking of you and me, with every whip that beat em,
And to think he did that knowing full well we’d say nah, we don’t really need him.
But like a Father, he couldn’t bare his children to not be free
So he thought up that tree, paid our fee, for specs of dirt like you and me
So my plea is let Him restore His proper place,

I promise you He loves you right now.

                    Just trust in His grace.

Because before I leave, I’ll leave you with this:

What of those other things you worship took nails in their wrists?
Or how about when was the last time money or sex forgave you?
Whens the last time your boyfriend set you free from all you’re enslaved to?
What else is there that died so you could be made new?
Or when’s the last time the world promised satisfaction, and actually came through?
